As a teacher, I have seen how transformative education can be when it is engaging, interactive, and personal. This becomes more powerful when students participate in projects and discover their own creativity and drive. As a parent, I experience how difficult it is to find digital support that keeps children’s faith alive. I want to bring the power of good education to Islamic apps that are freely available to the entire Muslim world.
Seeing my own sister struggle with her goal to memorize the Quran, I decided to start there. I wanted her and every Muslim to have a personal companion that would remove the stress and bring out the joy of this sacred journey. When I envision the path toward becoming a Haffiz, I see Nur, lightening up the soul. I sought to capture this in Nureen through a joyful cartoon Ramadan lantern.
I am starting with the Quran and plan to expand to all aspects of Islamic education. These apps are for everyone: families, children, and adults alike. Each app learns from the person using it and grows with them, so everyone feels seen and included. I am not doing this alone⦠I have a techpreneur, Muslim gaming expert, Quran consultant, media student, IT student and legal consultant, and Muslims from other fields to support me. Together, we are building something we truly believe will make a difference.
I have ambitious plans for each app, but I cannot realize this vision alone. I want to establish the Nureen Foundation, where volunteers unite to create a sadaqah jariyah: a legacy of good that serves the entire Muslim world and works till the end of time.
