Islamic Education Lead

Purpose

Ensure all educational content is theologically sound, pedagogically effective, and culturally appropriate to uphold Nureen’s educational standards and mission.

Responsibilities

• Oversee curriculum design for the Quran app, Arabic app, and habits app
• Ensure Islamic content aligns with mainstream Islamic scholarship and is age-appropriate
• Review and approve educational content before development
• Advise on cultural sensitivity and representation
• Connect with Islamic scholars or educators for content validation when needed
• Partner with the Community Engagement Lead to gather feedback from teachers and students

Qualifications

• Formal Islamic education or teaching background (imam, Islamic scholar, or qualified teacher)
• Experience teaching Islamic subjects to children or young adults
• Understanding of modern pedagogical approaches to religious education
• Fluency in Arabic (preferred, especially for the Arabic app)
• Commitment to inclusive, thoughtful Islamic representation

Time Commitment

4–6 hours per month
