Youth Advisory Member

Purpose

Ensure board decisions reflect the actual needs, preferences, and experiences of end users, including students and young people.

Responsibilities

• Provide perspective on app design and user experience from a youth standpoint
• Participate in user testing and feedback sessions
• Advise on age-appropriate content, tone, and engagement strategies
• Identify barriers to adoption, such as peer perception and usability issues
• Report to the board on what resonates with young users
• Help translate between board-level decisions and student reality

Qualifications

• Age 18–25, or older with recent education experience or young family
• Active in Islamic community or education as a student, recent graduate, or young parent
• Comfortable challenging the board constructively
• Basic understanding of apps and digital literacy
• Willingness to represent diverse youth perspectives

Time Commitment

3–4 hours per month
